Transit Services for Seniors and Disabled Persons

HSI Transporter
HSI Transporter is a shared ride service for residents of Washington County. Door-through-door service means that drivers will help riders through the first set of doors at both their pick-up points and their destinations.

The transporter is available Monday through Friday. ADA-certified persons have extended hours and days. Ask about fares when you call to arrange a ride.

HSI Transporter Services can take you anywhere in Washington County. Trips outside of the county also are available to specific destinations and medical facilities in St. Paul. In addition, the transporter can take riders to a Metro Transit bus line to make connections to destinations throughout the metro area.

To arrange a ride on the HSI Transporter, call (651) 275-4300. Ride requests are taken four days in advance of your travel date; limited same day service is available. You will need to know your service area. Woodbury is in area four; there are five service areas altogether.

HSI Ride Cards are also available. To purchase a card call (651) 275-4303.

For more information, visit www.hsicares.org.

Metro Mobility
Metro Mobility is a shared public transportation service for certified riders who are unable to use regular buses due to a disability or health condition. Disabled persons living in Washington County can use the HSI Transporter to connect to Metro Mobility providers. Certified riders call their transportation provider in advance to schedule their trips.

Persons with disabilities must be ADA-certified. Completion of an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) application is required. Call Metro Transit Customer Services at (651) 602-1111 (TTY 651-221-9886) to get an application form. The certification process takes up to 21 days once the completed application is received.

For more information about Metro Mobility, call Metro Mobility Customer Services at (651) 602-1111 (TTY 651-221-9886) between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Information also is available online at www.metrocouncil.org.
