Bus service in Woodbury

Metro Transit and First Transit provide express bus service to downtown St. Paul and downtown Minneapolis from Woodbury on weekdays. From downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis, connections may be made with other routes traveling to the University of Minnesota, Mall of America, and the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport.

Traveling between transit systems is easy because a regional fare and transfer policy is used by all systems. Fares are based on time of day and type of service, with special fares for seniors, youth and persons with disabilities. Fare boxes accept both coins and dollar bills, but do not give change.

Transit Link service, formerly dial-a-ride, also is an option in the seven-county metropolitan area where regular route transit service is not available. Transit Link is a shared-ride minibus or van service connecting with regular route buses, where possible. Transit Link rides must be reserved in advance by calling (651) 602-LINK. To assure Transit Link service does not duplicate regular route service, each trip will be evaluated for eligibility.

Visit the Transit Link Web site for fares, schedules, and service area maps.

Transit Link (formerly Dial-a-Ride)

As of Jan. 1, 2010, all dial-a-ride transit services in the Twin Cities metropolitan area are part of the Transit Link system. Transit Link provides minibus or van service for the public in areas where regular route transit service is not available. Standard service hours are weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fares are based on distance traveled.

The Washington County Transit Link Service will include all communities in the county and several communities in southern and eastern Ramsey County, effective March 2010. Some riders may use Transit Link for part of a trip and transfer to a regular bus route.

Transit Link is a shared-ride service, which must be reserved before the trip -- the same day or up to five business days in advance. Standing order trips, meaning trips scheduled at the same time several days in a row or every Monday, for example, will be accepted. Call (651) 602-LINK to ask about availability for your trip.
