Operations & Maintenance

The Street Division is responsible for maintenance and repair of 614 lane miles of local streets and 517 cul-de-sacs. The division maintains a program of bituminous spot-overlays, seal coating and concentrated patching and crack sealing. It is also responsible for maintaining traffic signals, street and regulatory signs, storm sewers, pavement markings, and for tree trimming along public right-of way.

All county roads are the responsibility of Washington County; all state and interstate highways, the State of Minnesota. Traffic signs and signals are maintained and operated by the agency responsible for the adjacent roadways.
