Police ReservesThe Woodbury Police Reserve program began in 1996. Volunteers in this program assist the Woodbury Police Department in serving the community. Reserve officers wear uniforms similar to police officers and patrol the city in marked police vehicles. Reserve officers do not carry handguns. Reserves assist the Police Department by handling non-emergency type calls. These calls include vehicle lockouts, animal complaints, traffic and crowd control, towing vehicles, and even transporting prisoners to the Washington County jail. Reserve officers receive training consisting of classroom work, practical skills, community relations, and the performance of police related tasks. Reserves must commit to a minimum of 10 hours of volunteer work per month. If you are interested in joining the Police Reserve Program, send a letter of interest to reserve@ci.woodbury.mn.us. Applications are accepted year round, and new reserve officers are added each spring.
