Public Safety Department Hours and Locations Emergency Dispatch: 911 The Public Safety Department houses police and fire services in Woodbury. The department also provides emergency medical services (EMS) and emergency management. The police division is responsible for protection of human life and property, the prevention and investigation of crime, and the apprehension and prosecution of criminal violators. Additionally, the police division is responsible for maintaining order in the community and providing police emergency response services as well as routine patrol. The fire division operates four fire stations. The division is staffed with three full-time chief officers, one part-time chief officer, and nine full-time firefighter/EMTs. The fire service also relies on 85-plus part-time on-call firefighter/EMTs who respond to fire, medical and emergency calls. The mission of the Public Safety Department is to provide exceptional customer service through integrated fire, police and emergency medical services to enhance the quality of life in the community. The Woodbury Public Safety Board, a non-profit organization incorporated in March 2000, works with the Woodbury Police and Fire Departments to establish a fund that is used for promoting crime prevention and public safety.
