Police ServicesThe Woodbury Police Department consists of the following programs and divisions: Patrol, Investigations and Crime Prevention, Juvenile, Canine, Support Services (records, etc.), Police Reserves, Police Chaplaincy Program, and Community Service Officers. Currently the Police Department has 62 sworn officers and 17 civilian employees that include community service officers and support services personnel. In addition, there are approximately 30 volunteers who participate in the Reserve, Explorer and Park Patrol programs. The city has taken an innovative approach to providing its citizens and visitors with the highest level of emergency service. Many police officers have been hired and trained as both police officers and paramedics. This unique program can be found in only three Twin Cities east suburban communities and it provides an unmatched level of care to people in need of medical assistance. The Police Division is committed to Community Oriented Policing. Special opportunities are available for officers to participate in a variety of programs.
