Residential Development

In 2002, Woodbury added 1,400 acres to its Metropolitan Urban Services Area (MUSA). This will allow for approximately 4,200 new residential housing units to be developed in Woodbury through 2009.

To provide information about new housing developments, the Building Inspections Department publishes a Lot Inventory Report, which is updated monthly. For additional information, call (651) 714-3543.

City Walk

LeCesse Development Corp. received approval of a planned unit development general plan of development for a project named City Walk, located in the southeast corner of Hudson Road and Woodbury Drive, just south of Woodbury Commons/Wal-Mart. This mixed-use project will consist of such commercial uses as office, retail, and restaurant uses (totaling approximately 203,000 square feet) as well as a flexible mix of 564 rental/owner-occupied housing units. The plan incorporates new urbanism concepts such as pedestrian friendly streetscapes, interconnected trail systems to the overall park system, vertical mixed land uses, transit friendly features, and coordinated architectural designs. City Walk is in School District 834.

The development is comprised of 675 acres, which is being developed into 1,200 housing units to be built over nine phases. The development includes 980 single-family lots and 220 multiple-family lots. The first addition will include 176 lots. The project is generally located south of Valley Creek Road and north of Bailey Road between Cottage Grove Drive and Manning Avenue. A small area of the plan extends south of Bailey Road. There are two small neighborhood commercial nodes in the project, and the developer has reserved some land for future affordable housing sites. Stonemill Farms is in School District 833.
