Draft 2030 Comprehensive Plan
Woodbury, along with all other cities in the metropolitan area, is required to update its Comprehensive Plan by the end of 2008. The current Comprehensive Plan, adopted in 2000, represented a major planning effort and provided a successful development framework for the city. Therefore, the 2030 Comprehensive Plan is seen as an update and enhancement of that document, rather than a complete redraft of the plan. The new Comprehensive Plan will guide development within the city through the year 2030.
The City Council appointed a 15-member citizen task force to oversee the update of the Comprehensive Plan. The task force consisted of members of the Planning Commission, Economic Development Commission, Economic Development Authority, Parks and Recreation Commission, Environmental Advisory Commission, Sustainability Committee, and the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, as well as several residents at large. The task force facilitated an extensive public participation process. The task force held workshops to obtain guidance on the elements of the updated Comprehensive Plan.
The task force has completed their review and update of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan and released it for public comment.
