2030 Plan is Complete
At its July 14, 2010, meeting, the Woodbury City Council formally adopted the 2030 Comprehensive Plan, placing it into effect. Woodbury, along with all other cities in the metropolitan area, was required to update its Comprehensive Plan based on the Metropolitan Council's Regional Development Framework. The 2030 Comprehensive Plan represented a major planning effort will guide development within the city through the year 2030.
The City Council appointed a citizen task force to oversee the update of the Comprehensive Plan. The task force consisted of members of the Planning Commission, Economic Development Commission, Economic Development Authority, Parks and Recreation Commission, Environmental Advisory Commission, Sustainability Committee, and the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, as well as several residents at large. The task force facilitated an extensive public participation process. The task force held a series of workshops to review and obtain guidance on the elements of the updated Comprehensive Plan.

Public Input
The city values the input and ideas of its citizens and business owners. The process of updating the city's Comprehensive Plan began with a series of community workshops. The purpose of these workshops was to learn about residents' views of Woodbury. What makes Woodbury a special place today? What are some ideas for change? What should Woodbury be in the year 2030? Answers to these questions guided the process of updating the Comprehensive Plan.
