Movies are shown in the amphitheater at Central Park, 8595 Central Park Place. Adults must accompany children. Cost is $3 per person for the unlimited popcorn and beverage. This family event is sponsored by Woodbury Parks and Recreation and the Southeast Area YMCA. Enter doors using the west side parking lot. Doors open at 6 p.m., movie starts at 6:30 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa
Santa will be taking a break from making toys and wants you to join him and a few of his elves for a catered breakfast by McHattie's Victorian Times, a holiday craft and picture with your jolly ol' friend. Bring your own camera. Santa wants to see you dressed in your holiday best! If you are signing up with another family, please let us know at the time of registration so we know to seat you together.

Take a Picture with Santa
Put on your holiday smiles and come to Central Park to have your picture taken with Santa Claus. Cost is $3 per group for posing with Santa. Number of photos will be limited to keep the line moving. Bring your own camera. Participants will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.

New Year's Eve Family Celebration
Ring in the New Year at the Bielenberg Sports Center! Games, moonwalks, slides, an obstacle course, mini-golf, bingo, open ice skating, Woodbury Skating Club exhibition, and more! Door prize drawing will be held at 8:30 p.m. before the big countdown to 2010 at 8:45 p.m. Purchase your ticket by Friday, Dec. 18, and your name will be entered into a special drawing.

- Tickets must be purchased for all participants ages 2 and up.
- You may register at the door after 5 p.m. for $10 per person (only if tickets are still available).
- Skate rental and concessions are an additional charge.
- This event is limited to the first 600 people.
- No refunds.
My Snowman and Me
Celebrate the season by having your family build a snowman! Take a picture, including the creators and your creation, and mail to City of Woodbury, 8301 Valley Creek Road, Woodbury, MN 55125, Attention: Ann Ringgold, or e-mail to aringgold@ci.woodbury.mn.us. Please write the name(s) of the child(ren), age, phone numbers and
address on the back of the photo or on your e-mail. Send in photos no larger than 4 x 7 (acceptable formats via e-mail include, tif, jpg or pdf files only). One photo per family. Photos will not be returned. Submissions are for Woodbury residents only. By submitting your photo you are giving us permission to use the photo in city sponsored publications, programs or on the city's Web site, with proper credit. We will accept photos throughout the winter season with March 31, 2010, as the submission deadline.
After a random drawing, the winning snowman photo will be featured in next year's winter recreation programs brochure. All snowmen photos will be featured on the city's Web site.
Sunday Bingo
Enjoy playing bingo and making ice cream sundaes. Pre-registration is required. All ages welcome.

Old Fashioned Egg Hunt
Bring your bucket and join us for an old fashioned egg hunt outside at Carver Lake Park. Separate locations will be set up in the park for the different age groups: 0 - 2, 3 - 4, and 5 - 7. There will be a limit of 10 eggs per child. Event will be held rain or shine, please dress for the weather. We will start promptly at 3 p.m.

Flashlight Egg Hunt
An egg hunt in the dark! Grab your flashlight and bucket and join us at Carver Lake Park. Find the special eggs with the hidden message and claim your prize. It's not how many eggs you find; it's finding the right one. Event will be held rain or shine, dress for the weather. An adult must accompany children in the park.

Spring Cleanup Week
The purpose is to clean up litter from the city parks, trails and schools. Garbage bags are supplied for trash. Filled garbage bags can be deposited in, or near the trash receptacles for pick up by the City park maintenance crew. The first 200 participants registered will receive a small thank you. Call (651) 714-3583 by Tuesday, April 6, to register. Pick up bags at the Parks and Recreation Department at City Hall by April 9.

Arbor Day Tree Planting Event
The purpose of this program is to create an awareness and appreciation for trees in our environment through instructions and hands-on tree planting. The city park maintenance crew digs the holes and provides the trees. The location is to be determined. Call (651) 714-3583 by April 16 to register your group.

Geocaching Basics for the Family
Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for GPS users. A fun part of the treasure hunt is to find a cache (treasure) that may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. We have many of these treasures within Woodbury. We will show you how to enjoy this electronic treasure hunt while exploring local parks. GPS units provided for use. Space is limited.
