Woodbury's Carver Lake Camp Out
Woodbury's Carver Lake Camp Out provides an opportunity for everyone to relive - or experience for the first time - how much fun it is to spend a night sleeping under the stars and enjoy the sounds of nature at night. We are encouraging families to camp out together for one night. There will be numerous activities to participate in throughout the afternoon and evening. Once registered, we will provide a supply list and more details on the activities. Dinner, campfire treats and a continental breakfast will be provided. If you have special dietary needs, please note when registering. This event will be held rain or shine.

Age: Families (activities geared to ages 4 to 12, with an adult)
Location: Carver Lake Park, 3175 Century Avenue South
Date: Begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 10, and continues through Saturday, July 11, at noon
Fee: $10 per person

Coin Carnival
Join us for fun and games at this year's Coin Carnival. The day will include games and prizes, a moon walk, spin art, temporary tattoos, lunch and snacks. Volunteers ages 13 and up are needed. Send an e-mail to Michelle Okada with your interest.

Ages: 2 to 12, accompanied by an adult
Date: Friday, July 17 (rain date is Aug. 14)
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: Ojibway Park, 2695 Ojibway Drive
Fee: Tickets for all activities will be sold on site.


Teen Art Display
Are you between the ages of 12 and 19? Do you paint, draw or take pictures? If so, we need your talents. Art created by area teens is wanted for the Teen Art Display. One submission per artist is allowed and art must be framed. Categories are: Painting, Drawing or Photography. Art will be on display at City Hall between Aug. 3 and Aug. 28. Submissions may be dropped off at the Parks and Recreation Department between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays beginning July 27 through July 31. Artists must fill out a submission form.

Fourth of July Celebration
Are you looking for a hometown Fourth of July celebration? Pack up the lawn chair or bring a blanket and come to Ojibway Park for Woodbury's annual holiday celebration. Woodbury's own Red Rock Swing Band takes the stage at 7 p.m. The Fourth of July celebration culminates with the traditional fireworks display, which will start at 10 p.m. All activities are free. Concessions will be sold on site.

Date: Saturday, July 4, at 7 p.m. Concession sales between 7 and 10 p.m.


11th Annual Woodbury Days Bike Ride
The City of Woodbury Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Woodbury Days Council, is pleased to offer this fun and exciting bike ride for all ages and levels of experience. Choose from a 10-, 30- and 60-mile course. The picturesque course runs throughout the cities of Woodbury, Lake Elmo, Stillwater and Afton. Pre-register by Aug. 14 at www.woodburydays.com/bikeride.aspx.com Don't miss this fun and healthy community event. Day of ride registration and check-in is on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Colby Lake Park, 9715 Valley Creek Road.

Old Fashioned Egg Hunt
Bring your bucket and join us for an old fashioned egg hunt outside at Carver Lake Park. Separate locations will be set up in the park for the different age groups: 0 to 2, 3 to 4, and 5 to 7. There will be a limit of 10 eggs per child. Event will be held rain or shine, please dress for the weather. We will start promptly at 3 p.m.

Flashlight Egg Hunt
An egg hunt in the dark! Grab your flashlight and bucket and join us at Carver Lake Park. Find the special eggs with the hidden message and claim your prize. It's not how many eggs you find; it's finding the right one. Event will be held rain or shine, dress for the weather. An adult must accompany children in the park.

Youth Expo-Think Summer
Mark your calendar! Several youth program providers will be offering families the opportunity to take a peek at summer programs occurring under one roof. You won't want to miss out on the best summer opportunities ever. This event is co-sponsored by Parks and Recreation and School District 833 Community Education.

Spring Cleanup Week, April 11-18
The purpose is to clean up litter from city parks, trails and schools. Garbage bags are supplied for trash. Filled garbage bags can be deposited in, or near the trash receptacles for pick up by the city park maintenance crew. The first 200 participants registered will receive a small thank you. Call (651) 714-3583 by Tuesday, April 7, to register. Pick up bags at the Parks and Recreation Department at City Hall, 8301 Valley Creek Road, by April 11.


Arbor Day
The purpose of this program is to create an awareness and appreciation for trees in our environment through instruction and hands-on tree planting. The city park maintenance crew digs the holes and provides the trees. This year, trees will be planted in the new trail corridor along St. Johns Drive east to Settler's Ridge Parkway. Call (651) 714-3583 by April 18 to register your group.

Time: 9 a.m. to noon (at your designated park)
Note: Bring shovels and dress in work clothes - you may get dirty.
