Woodbury's Comprehensive Plan defines commercial areas in the city as either places to work, such as office buildings and factories, or places to shop, such as restaurants and shopping centers. The Plan places an emphasis on creating additional places to work. Some places in the community have the potential to be one or the other. 15. Because of the large State budget deficit, local government aid from the State will very likely be cut. If State aid to cities is cut, an increase in local taxes would be required to replace this funding and avoid cuts in city services. 44. Cities generally use one of two ways to enhance the absorption of storm water into the ground. The City of Woodbury has relied upon wet ponds to improve absorption. Other communities have also used dry basins, which are areas that are sometimes wet, but at other times part dry bare ground and part natural vegetation. 70. Do you think it would be acceptable in terms of their appearance for the City to use dry basins rather than wet ponds for enhanced storm water absorption? The Woodbury Park System is composed of smaller neighborhood parks designed to serve residents within a one-half mile radius, larger community parks containing ballfields, picnic areas, beaches, the Eagle Valley Golf Course and Clubhouse, the Bielenberg Sports Center Ice Arena and Fieldhouse, Carver Lake Beach and picnic shelter, Ojibway athletic fields, Central Park which includes the Indoor Park, Amphitheater, as well as meeting rooms, and interconnecting trails.
