SUBJECT:

Authorize Kraus-Anderson Construction Company to solicit bids for the Bielenberg Sports Center Expansion Project

SUMMARY

At the November 28, 2012 City Council workshop, plans for the Bielenberg Sports Center Expansion Project were reviewed and Council directed staff to complete the plans and specifications for the building project.  The next step in the process is to authorize Kraus-Anderson Construction Company to solicit bids for the project.  The bid date for the building construction, including the outdoor refrigerated ice rink, is planned for March 5, 2013.  The results will be brought to the March 13 Council meeting.

The landscaping, including the water play feature, is being coordinated as a separate project and bids will be solicited at a later date still to be determined.  Staff is working with Stantec to complete this part of the project and the preliminary plans will be reviewed at the February 20, 2013 City Council workshop.
