SUBJECT:	Approval of gift resolution for blankets from the MN Sheriff’s Association

SUMMARY

The Minnesota Sheriff’s Association has offered to donate 50 blankets to the Woodbury Public Safety Department for use by children in medical emergencies and other situations.

RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Council adopt the attached resolution.

BUDGET IMPACT

There will be no impact to the current 2005 budget by accepting this gift.

BACKGROUND

The MN Sheriff’s Association has been provided with numerous child-sized blankets that were handmade by Girl Scouts. They are in the process of distributing these blankets to law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Minnesota and have offered to donate 50 to the Woodbury Public Safety Department. These blankets will be placed in squad cars and will be offered to children in need of comfort during a medical emergency or other police-related situation.
